According to Google, worldwide interest in MLM and Network Marketing peaked in 2005.
During the same period from 2004 – 2010, the search interest in Affiliate Marketing rose, passing Network Marketing in 2006.
You’d think that more people would be looking for MLM opportunities during tough economic times - and they may be, just not on Google;)
Another explanation is the amount of Get Rich Online advertising has risen dramatically, and Madoff has definitely given pyramid schemes a bad rap;)
But here’s something else to consider:
Affiliate Marketing has a low barrier to entry – most often zero money to get started – with no recurring autoship commitments, no recruiting people to recruit more people, fairly easy to explain, simple to do online and no meetings!
